The Electronic Securities Act (eWpG) of Germany has paved the way for crypto-assets to be recognized as legitimate financial instruments. Securities such as shares and bonds can now be issued on blockchain-based platforms, giving investors greater access and liquidity. Peer-to-peer securities transfer is now possible with eWpG, which has the potential to revolutionize the traditional securities industry.

About the lecturer

Dr. Marcus Hennig has a background in both physics and financial mathematics. After spending several years in France, China, and Australia as a physicist in international research centers, he moved back to Germany to start his career as a consultant at d-fine. In d-fine's Blockchain unit, Dr. Marcus Hennig takes a leading role as Senior Manager in several client projects focused on developing new innovative products and services around digital assets.

Dr. Marc Henniges did his Ph.D. in physics with a focus on the application of machine learning and now holds a manager position in the blockchain practice at d-fine. He has participated in several successful client projects in this role, from tokenization to Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI). He has gained experience in Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC) and pay-per-use applications. He uses his comprehensive blockchain insights to help clients structure their blockchain-related enterprise - from project management to implementation.
