This innovative approach has created legal and regulatory challenges in Europe, where traditional securities laws only sometimes apply. As a result, there is a need for legal frameworks that can govern the issuance, trading, and custody of tokenized debt instruments.

About the lecturers

Cristina Freudenberger is a partner in the Capital Markets Practice at White & Case. Her expertise lies in advising issuers and investment banks on capital markets law, focusing on the issue, underwriting, and placement of various types of investment grade and high-yield bonds, promissory notes, convertible and hybrid instruments, and structured products. She also handles securitization products, including AT1 and Tier 2 instruments.
