About the lecturers

Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner has founded the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center (FSBC). In 2018 and in 2019, he was ranked as one of the “top 30” economists by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), a major newspaper in Germany. Further, he belonged to the “Top 40 under 40” — a ranking by the German business magazine Capital. Since 2017, he is member of the FinTech Council of the Federal Ministry of Finance in Germany. The expertise of Prof. Sandner includes blockchain technology in general, crypto assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, the digital programmable Euro, tokenization of assets and rights and digital identity.

Philipp J.A. Hartmannsgruber is a board member at the Blockchain Bundesverband e.V. (Bundesblock). Until June he was at the German Savings Banks Association (DSGV) responsible for the digital money topics in the German Savings Banks Finance Group (SFG). In 2019, he founded PJAH Consulting his blockchain consultancy. He writes and speaks about the digital euro, blockchain technology, Bitcon as well as other new technologies.

Sarah Palurovic is executive director at the Digital Euro Association and project manager at the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center. She co-designed the Master of Blockchain & Digital Assets at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management where she is a lecturer for the economics of Ethereum. Sarah is a mentor for the DLT Talents and DeFi Talents educational program. Her fields of expertise are CBDCs, Stablecoins, cryptocurrencies and their respective economics.

Claus George is the Head of group for Innovation and Digitalization in the Transaction banking division of DZ BANK. 

Originally educated as a computer scientist, he has been working in banks for about 25 years. In recent years, his focus shifted towards the development of new means of payment and forms of money.

Dr. Marc Henniges is a physicist by education and now holds a senior manager position in the blockchain practice at the consultancy d-fine. In this and in previous roles, he has participated in several successful client projects, from tokenization to self-sovereign identity (SSI) and has gained experience in central bank digital currencies (CBDC) as well as pay-per-use applications. He uses his comprehensive blockchain insights – on the tech, business, and regulatory side – to help clients in structuring their blockchain-related enterprise - from project management to implementation.
