Industry Insights: Panel Discussion: “Who Purchases Crypto Assets? Retail, Institutional, or Corporate Investors?”

Currently, most crypto-asset investors are retail investors, which is due to several reasons. Most treasurers of institutions and companies want to calculate with a stable currency – the bitcoin, for instance, would be too volatile. Furthermore, the acceptance of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment is rather low, the preferred currency is still the local currency. In this panel, Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner (Frankfurt School Blockchain Center), Simon Seiter (Deutsche Börse), Alexander Hoeptner (Bitmex), Christoph Iwaniez (Bitwala), Dr. Rene Andres (European Investment Fund) and Frank Wagner (Invao) discuss the future implementation of cryptocurrencies with a focus on institutions and companies.
