A digital programmable euro is a promising use case of blockchain technology, but there are still some obstacles such a stablecoin has to face on its way to mass adoption. In this panel discussion, Alexander Bechtel (Deutsche Bank), Radoslay Albrecht (Bitbond), Maximilian Portenlänger (Bankhaus von der Heydt), Dr. Marcus Henning (d-fine) and Maximilian Forster (Cash-on-Ledger Technologies) discuss the current benefits and hurdles of the concept.

About the lecturers

Alexander Bechtel is an expert in monetary economics and works for Deutsche Bank. Furthermore, he is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. His research focuses on monetary economics, money markets, digital currencies, and safe assets. Since June 2019, he is publishing a podcast on digital currencies called Bitcoin, Fiat & Rock’n’Roll (in German).
