The more blockchain technology arrives in our world, the more important it becomes for tokenization. In some areas of application, regulation is still developing, but there is also the option to go off-shore. In this panel, Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner (Frankfurt School Blockchain Center), Carsten Hahn (Capco), Carla Bünger (Kore Technology), Alex von Frankenberg (High Tech Gründerfonds) and Stijn Vander Straeten (Crypto Finance) discuss the current situation and future expectations of tokenization.

About the lecturers

Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner has founded the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center (FSBC). In 2018 and 2019, he was ranked as one of the “top 30” economists by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), a major newspaper in Germany. Further, he belonged to the “Top 40 under 40” — a ranking by the German business magazine Capital. Since 2017, he is a member of the fintech Council of the Federal Ministry of Finance in Germany. The expertise of Prof. Sandner includes blockchain technology in general, crypto-assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, the digital programmable Euro, tokenization of assets and rights, and digital identity. Carsten Hahn has more than 20 years of consulting experience in the financial services industry supporting clients in their change and transformation agenda to enable business models and to adapt to changing market environments. For over two years, he worked as a Senior Manager at Accenture, then starting as Managing Principal at Capco, where he now is a Senior Partner.

Carla Bünger worked as a Product and Brand Manager for several years and gained experience in Sales and Business Development. Since 2019 she is CEO of Kore Technologies AG, a company that enables issuers to tokenize, manage, and trade digital assets across industries in the most secure and regulatory compliant way.

Dr. Alexander von Frankenberg is Managing Director of High-Tech Gründerfonds. Before taking that position in October 2005, he was responsible for spin-offs as Venture Manager at the Siemens Technology Accelerator (STA). Before joining the STA in April 2002, Alex was head of sales and marketing of an IT start-up. Before that, he headed the Innovation Practice at Siemens Management Consulting. He started his career designing and implementing large IT systems with Andersen Consulting. Alex holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin (1992) and a Ph.D. from the University of Mannheim (1997).

Stijn Vander Straeten worked for Ernst & Young for several years, starting as an assistant and last as a Senior Manager. Since 2018 he is CEO of Crypto Finance AG, a financial technology holding company founded in 2017.
