Investment Value chains don’t only provide new opportunities, but also bring some challenges into the market. The panelists of this discussion are sharing their thoughts and experiences on the token economy and digital assets from different perspectives, highlighting the resulting opportunities for investors and the possibilities that are coming up with new technologies. As part of this, they also provide brief illustrations of the projects they are currently working on and share interesting insights.

About the lecturers

Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner has founded the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center (FSBC). In 2018 and 2019, he was ranked as one of the “top 30” economists by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), a major newspaper in Germany. Further, he belonged to the “Top 40 under 40” — a ranking by the German business magazine Capital. Since 2017, he is a member of the fintech Council of the Federal Ministry of Finance in Germany. The expertise of Prof. Sandner includes blockchain technology in general, crypto-assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, the digital programmable Euro, tokenization of assets and rights, and digital identity.

Andrei Kazantsev works as the Global Head of Crypto Trading at Goldman Sachs. Before that, he started at Goldman Sachs as Part of the FS Options Trading Division and was also Global Head of FX Flow Exotics and Structured Products for more than one year. Before his career at Goldman Sachs, Andrei also made his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the Imperial College in London and gained practical experiences through various Internships.

Christoph Hock currently works as Managing Director / Head Multi-Asset Trading at Union Investment, is the Co-Chairman at Plato Partnership, Director of Neptune Networks, and Director of Sustainable Trading. He pursued his bachelor’s at the Frankfurt School and after his master’s degree in St. Gallen, he gained experience in a variety of jobs all over the topics of Capital Management and more.

David Durouchoux is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Société Générale FORGE. He is responsible for client relationships & business development, as well as coverage for central banks & CBDC. Furthermore, he rules Blockchain-based product lines, such as Bonds, Security Tokens, Structured Products, CBDC, ICO & utility tokens, and services for blockchain-based products, such as structuration (financial, legal, technical), Issuer services, crypto-custody (safekeeping), asset servicing.

After his Ph.D. in physics, Dr. Holger Meffert started as a consultant in Financial Risk Management. Afterward, he moved from the Market Risk Department at a large German Bank to BPO and consulting business at the two largest US-business service companies. In 2007, he joined DZ BANK in the retail ordering and brokerage area, while moving to the back office in 2015 – here, he is responsible for heading the securities management department, including digital assets as Senior Vice President.
