About the lecturers

Jens Siebert is a partner at KPMG and advises banks on strategic, operational, and regulatory issues in securities and capital markets business. His consulting focus is on the development of DLT-based business models (including DLT securities, custody, and registry management) and their operational implementation. Jens Siebert is one of the pioneers for regulated DLT financial services in Germany and has, among other things, established one of the first licensed crypto custodians and driven various tokenization projects to maturity.

Benjamin Duve is part of the Digital Asset Unit at BNY Mellon. In his enterprise-wide role, he is the lead for tokenization but also looks at digital assets and the potential opportunities they offer broadly across the organization and business lines. As a realistic, early-days blockchain and DLT enthusiast, he works on finding tomorrow's solutions for today’s capital markets challenges. Being involved in many securities-related proofs-of-concept and live trades dating back to 2017 he is a thought leader and sought-after panelist in the field. He represents the bank in various industry working groups. In his previous role as a Head of Digital Assets, he explored the new value proposition from issuance to custody for institutional and corporate clients and oversaw a digital assets strategy around crypto and digital assets.

Dr. Anika Patz is a senior associate in the banking & financial services unit of YPOG. Anika advises banks, financial services institutions and investment firms, investment-fund managers and depositaries, institutional investors, FinTech companies as well as stock exchanges and multilateral trading venues, in particular on regulatory topics as well as matters of compliance and money laundering. Prior to joining YPOG, Anika was a senior associate at Eversheds Sutherland in the banking team led by Dr. Carola Rathke. Before that, she worked as in-house legal counsel for Boerse Stuttgart Digital Exchange GmbH. Börse Stuttgart Digital Exchange is a Germany-based MTF for digital assets. Anika started her career at a Berlin-based law firm with a focus on banking and financial services law.

Jonathan Leßmann is part of SWIAT GmbH since its foundation in February 2022. He is responsible for the marketing and platform strategy of the blockchain-based SWIAT ecosystem for the financial industry. Previously, from November 2018 to February 2022, he was involved in various positions within DekaBank in building, marketing, and business analysis of DLT projects such as SWIAT, Digital Collateral Protocol (DCP), and digitally registered bonds. Jonathan received his Master's degree in Corporate Performance & Restructuring from Frankfurt School and holds two Bachelor's degrees in International Management from ESB Business School in Reutlingen and University Comillas ICADE in Madrid.

Kurt Zeimers is responsible for the go-to-market strategy and product management of the Asset Manager Client Line at BNP Paribas in Germany. He is also responsible for the Digital Asset strategy for the German asset manager and asset owner client segment. Kurt has been working for BNP Paribas since 2000 in various roles as project and product manager within the depositary, global custody, and fund administration business. He originally started his career as an account manager at Banque Paribas Luxemburg in the Fund Services department. Kurt holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from HEC Liège, the Management School of the University of Liège in Belgium.

Max J. Heinzle holds an M.Sc. in Global Banking & Finance. He gained extensive capital market experience as an investment analyst at a leading VC firm and later as Head of Capital Markets of a CF firm. In 2015, he co-founded Mezzany (OneCrowd Securities GmbH), a pioneer in crowd-investing in Germany with a transaction volume of more than EUR 100 million and over 90,000 registered users. In March 2017, he founded 21.finance AG.
